warren buffett 2025 thanksgiving letter: going quiet
The Warren Buffett 2025 Thanksgiving Letter1 was located at the website of Berkshire Hathaway.
He will not write Berkshire’s annual report anymore but will share some thoughts on the Thanksgiving letters every year.
According to Buffett, it is a interesting phenomenon that lots of close friends of him is coming from his hometown and just a few miles away from hime.
He said “Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes”: Sometimes making mistakes is inevitable, and the important thing is to learn from them and move on. Regret is a waste of time and the only way to make up for past mistakes is to do better in the future.
He said “When you help someone in any of thousands of ways, you help the world”: Helping others is definitely a good thing to do, but must make sure the action is really helpful to the one who needs the help. Sometimes, good intentions can lead to negative consequences if not executed properly. And we have to stand on the perspective of the one who needs help, not from our own perspective.
He said “Kindness is costless but also priceless. Whether you are religious or not, it’s hard to beat The Golden Rule as a guide to behavior”.
He thought that “Our stock price will move capriciously, occasionally falling 50% or so as has happened three times in 60 years under present management.”.
